House: Kensington's Big Girl Room

Note: Blogger notified me that I had 5 unfinished drafts to post, and I noticed I had written these last year when we moved into our house and never published them. Now that all my photos are gone, it was fun to look through and see some of these picts.

Kensington's room was actually a loft when we bought the house.  We had our house for 1 week before we moved in, because we wanted to have the loft turned into a 4th bedroom, get new paint, and new carpet.  I still can't believe everything went smoothly and timely and all the contractors/deliveries/etc I had lined up went off like clock work.

BEFORE: as a loft
So basically they contractor ripped out that banister and put up a wall.  Then that built in desk in the corner was converted into a closet with hanging doors.  Space wise, our particular model was made so that this space was flexible--- so there wasn't any super major renovations or wiring that had to be done, since the floorplan was designed to be either a bedroom or loft.

KD's Big Girl Room!

Her bed was my first Craigslist purchase ($60!) that I attacked with some spray paint and a coat of sealant.  I'm honestly not a furniture refinisher kind of person.  I never know what materials to buy and what is the right way to do stuff.  I just looked up a few tutorials and they said you could spray paint whatever you want so I did.

Also, I can't  believe she stayed in a crib so long ha! She was a 3.5yrs when she got the boot from the crib.
We moved into our new house in July and Maybelle was born in September so we needed that dear ole crib back.

My favorite toy, my great grandmas little kitchenette:
