We had a staycation spring break. I actually did contemplate and almost take the girls on a train ride to San Diego to Sea World, I was THIS close. But staying in a hotel with Maybelle right now just did not sound appealing.
So we stayed here and had 1 fun activity per day. They had swim lessons every morning. Their teacher was hard core, no nonsense, no fluff and I think they were scared to death of her. But they made a lot of progress. Amaryllis had a goal to swim down and back, 1 full lap with her side breathing and using different strokes and she did great!
Kensington's goal was to jump in the pool. She DID NOT want to do it and no amount of bribes could convince her.
Amaryllis and her bestie got to go see Cinderella. Grandma K came down for the night to see it with us.
It was a darling movie, very enjoyable.
The next day we had our annual easter egg hunt that me and my girlfriends do every year. It has grown and grown! Everybody brought friends and there were lots of people I didn't even know!
Amaryllis dressed up as a bunny and painted this nose on herself (with a washable marker) and then realized it wouldn't stay on her skin, so luckily she wiped it off before we had to be seen in public with her.
She keeps leaving these envelopes on my desk, I never read what was inside, I guess we'll never know!
Maybelle picked her first flower, and Amaryllis ran over with her and demanded I take a picture and send it to schramma:
The girls were not fans of Jello eggs this year. I guess I let too much time pass between their jello opportunities, they thought it was squishy and gross.
Amaryllis went to her besties 8th birthday party, it was an art party and she was looking forward to it sooooo badly!
She loved it!
How cute are these girls.
And how cute is my friend Lindsey, she's so creative.
Easter weekend was at the tail end of our Spring Break.
It was mellow. Like previous years, I did not do candy in their eggs (just craisins and yogurt raisins) and they were clueless. It's all about the hunt!
Our sweet neighbor left them some paint and paper on the porch, isn't that nice? When I was thanking her later, she said "well I just really love hearing them on your porch when they do art projects, it really brings me so much joy."
Also worthy of documentation is Maybelle's reaction to the car wash.

I remember when you thought Jello was squishy and gross. LOL! Kelsey changed your life forever with her Jello eggs.
