Kensington went outside to check the mail with me. She brought her new favorite thing, a hat. She recently learned how to put them on and she just beams with pride when she gets it to actually stay on her head.
I grabbed my camera because the cute part was when she would try to look upwards at her hat while walking, and she would go crosseyed and lose her balance and fall down. Of course the minute you get your camera out, they stop doing the cute things right?

Part of me wants the gap in her front teeth to close so she'll be like every other uniform human on the planet. Part of me wants it to stay there because it gives such character (hello Lara Stone). But it will most likely close once her other teeth come in...if they ever do!
I would love to post some photos of Amaryllis but she refuses to cooperate the past few months. She goes blank and gets this listless, zoned look in her face when I take pictures of her. I guess I'll have to coax it out of her with some sort of fairy tea party setup or something.
A few things on my mind, in list format:
1) I don't like to cook dinner, mostly due to the fact that there is a rule programmed into every child that at 5pm they should completely turn against their parents and unleash their inner demon. I have confirmed this fact with several other moms.
2) I diagnosed my knee problem as "Runners Knee" so I'm staying off it for a few weeks. Which means I'm trying not to eat fatty--which is so hard!
3) Love my short haircut. Envious of long hair still.
4) Got my first squash from my garden!
5) BabyLaceRompers.com was featured on VeryJane.com and our living room turned into a mail wharehouse for a few days.
6) Me and Jake get to hangout all day and it's awesome. We work back to back in our little office and bounce ideas off each other, or give input and opinions.
7) Yay for summer preschool! Now what to do for the fall?
8) I actually finished a craft project and loved it so much I made one for Kdawg's bday present. Photos to come later. That's part of your present too--we will be using this craft project in a photoshoot with our kiddies next month.
9) I wanted to order this comforter from The Company Store.
I put it in my online cart, and by the time I came back to my computer a few hours later to checkout it was sold out. I'm very sad, even 2 days later. This quilt really spoke to me. When I find something I like this much, I will fork out money for it. This is rare as I pride myself in being a clearance-kind-of-decorator. And now I'm still thinking about this quilt. I need to get over it. What do you think of this one? I should mention my bedroom walls are very blue.

I confess that I do not love the other quilt as much as I love the sold out one. Here's an idea: ebay! Maybe someone bought it and didn't like & is selling it now.

P.S. I am {this} close to taking a trip to Summertree Farms! I think Sydney needs a friend.
With a sewing machine you could make that sold out quilt in a couple days. It looks like really simple 12x12 or 14x14 squares off set from eachother. All it would take is a trip to the fabric store and probably 30 or 40 bucks worth of fabric.

4.Sorry about your quilt. I'm not a huge fan of the second one, but LOVE the first one.
I like your alternate quilt, although not as much as the original. Too bad it's not the first one, but it still reminds me of you. I think you could work it. But would you always think of the sold out one when you looked at it? I like the idea of sewing your own.
Hazel's old pediatrician told me that spaced out baby teeth are ideal, because it means there's room in their mouths for the adult teeth to grow in without crowding and being crooked. We'll see how that theory plays out, as Todd and I both had massive needs for orthodontia, but I'm hoping it holds some truth!
