Ok. SO. Disney World.
Well Jake and I had thought about going and leaving the girls behind, since it has been awhile since we've done that (ok, I don't think we've ever done that!). Well just so happens my mother in law and sister in law were planning their own little mommy-daughter trip to Disney World in May too. Anyways, schedules changed and things came up and long story short, we thought about combining with them, but then instead somehow it turned into a week long girls trip which I sort of just invited myself to :)
The 2 hr plane ride by myself was relaxing, even if I was in the middle seat. No strollers! No diaper bag! No bottles! I read a book for the first time in forever.
We stayed on the Disney property at The Grand Floridian, which you must do before you die. Impeccable service, grounds, food, amenities, perks, etc. (photos courtesy of google images)
Geeze, we did so much in those 6 days that I was totally worn out. Really, ask the girls! I'm used to my 1pm naptime at my house, so their go-go-go attitude was a rude awakening as to how lazy I've become.
Here is our schedule we made on the first day and we stuck to it--and then some. I really can't list everything we did and saw.
The week has become a blur to me, but here are some highlights:-Dancing in the parade at Magic Kingdom
-Going on the new Star Tours ride that wasn't open yet, and being interviewed afterwards
-VIP passes at Universal Studios and cutting in line to go on the rides as many times as we wanted.
-Swedish Massage---I'm hooked
-Super yummy food. Emeril's Restaurant was my favorite. No wait, the Dole pineapple float was my fav.
-Riding Tower of Terror 4 times in a row before 9am. Best ride ever.
-Seeing all the hot, tired, screaming kids in strollers and being SO glad it wasn't me. My kids aren't going to Disney until their 10 yrs old and can walk and appreciate it.
-Private boat on the lake to watch the fireworks over the castle. Magical.
-Harry Potter World--so much detail! I really need to read those books.
-Being roommates with my mother in law and talking about life, futures, regrets, sad times, happy times and hopes.
-Chilling with Meghan and Kristin--they are so cool! And the best travel partners ever!
-Screaming our heads off on rides, giggling in line, and having that glazed over tired look on the ride back to the hotel each night.
-Not leaving Jake even one single instructional note, schedule or list. Me!! The Organized List Maker!!!
Most of all: Being a kid again and having that magical feeling that dreams come true and you can do or be anything you want. I'm so jazzed for life!
