Nursery Art

As promised, here are some picts of my wall art that I just finished for the new baby's nursery.

Aren't they adorably cute and whimsical? I got the idea of using paper to give it some texture from the Pottery Barn catalog. Then I liked the texture so much I started adding ribbon, buttons, feathers-- and I so wanted to go crazy with the glitter but I know less is more.

The best part is I tried to use up my current craft "stock" and not buy anything new. All the ribbons were random scraps. I did purchase 4 sheets of paper but it cost a buck. I already had the blank canvases and paint. And if you've seen my headbands lately, you know I got me some feathers up in here! (Jake keeps telling me to sell my feather headbands on Etsy so we can get rich and he can quite his job. I told him that takes the fun out of making them. I have WAY too many at the moment...does anybody want one?).
Oh, and the adorable bird cages and flower shapes are from "our" Cricut that me's girlfriend, Heidi, hauls over to my house on a constant basis. Ok the truth is, I sat myfatself in the new black and white chair and gave orders to Heidi as to what she needed to cut out for me.

And yes, the name starts with a K. I guess that is the latest clue. I know, everyone is going to be like "Are you naming the baby Kelsey?" but no that's not it (I think I only have room for 1 Kelsey in my life. Awww....for precious!).

Oh and duh, this post must contain a pict of our birthday girl playing with some presents that we let her open a day early.

(The hat is actually a halloween costume for the new baby from Auntie Mel...but Amaryllis is loving it. My parents gave her those bottles and she puts both in her pockets like a gun holster. She's also loving the cute cradle from Grandpappy & Grahamz Bartlett.)

I Love the wall art, you are just so crafty now! I have nothing hanging in Miles and macey's room right now since I rearranged the furniture, I have yet to be inspired I suppose.

You brought a tear to my eye. Perhaps you really are thinking of using Kemley. ;) I will begin to compose a new list of guesses with this added clue.

So cute! I love the wall art! Happy B-day to Miss Amaryllis. Brooke has that same doll! She loves it as I can see Amaryllis does.

You are so talented! Love the wall art. I sayyou and Heidi definitely won the craft-off this round. We'll have to step it up a notch. Do you know which cartridge the flowers are on??? Loved those!

K... My vote is Kemely also. Can't wait to see what you and Jake have decided!!!

That is pretty much the cutest pictures ever! I love it. So I think you need to go into interior design....a great job to do from home, and you get to be creative and spend other peoples money!

Oh....and I've worn the headbands you gave me....and every time I get complements on it!

And I'm going to take a random guess at the name and guess Kate.

What a cute bedroom for the baby. I wish I had "vision" like you do.... maybe you can charge a nominal fee and educate me :) Hope you are feeling better.... My guesses for the baby name are Kaitlin, Kennedy, or Katniss (a la Hunger Games-it's been on my mind!)

Kelsey told me about your amazing wall art and I had to come check it out. Love it. When I saw it I thought of this quilt: http://www.ohfransson.com/oh_fransson/2010/02/ninepatch-lattice-quilt.html She also has a tutorial for how to make it using wonky 9-patch squares.

When Kelsey told me the clues for the baby's name my first thought was Katniss. Yes, I have read The Hunger Games :-).
