We were suppose to have her elephant party on Saturday with her little girlfriends. But I cancelled it since I have yet another cold and didn't want to spread the lovely germs. It was probably just as well since one of her friends had the stomach flu earlier this week...something I do not need in this house! Anyways, there was no pin-the-trunk-on-the-elephant or adorably wrapped party favors (circus peanuts) for me to perfectly arrange, then take photos of, and blog about like every other mommy-blogger, but that's ok.

Anyways we still had pizza that night and funness all week. As you might have guessed, she is very enraptured with elephants the past few months (from too much Dumbo and Jungle Book). Like seriously in l-o-v-e with the species. She can spot them anywhere and everywhere. I never knew how many pictures of elephants existed in the world but trust me there are many.

Miss Heidi gave her this stuffed elephant. It has been a life-changing experience for Amaryllis to have and hold her very own elephant. So far it has gone pretty much everywhere but I did draw the line on her sleeping with it b/c I knew she'd get way too attached.
And per the above/below photos, you will see why pigtails are still the only thing I can do with her hair. She has yet to have a single hair cut or trimmed these past 2 yrs of existence. The front/sides simply do not grow. Jake is concerned and keeps asking me in all seriousness "Is she going to be ok? Like will we have to get her a wig?".

In other news, like last year on her birthday weekend, we went to the Krispy Kreme Challenge. The boys couldn't finish their last bit of donuts (their plan of attack this year was to take 4 donuts, smash them down, and eat them like a sandwich. Both boys ate about 9-10 donuts but couldn't manage to complete the dozen). Here is their "shame" photo. And checkout the rows upon rows of delicious boxes...

You guys were so close to finishing off the donuts what happened? Will you be trying again next year, you're getting better each time. Maybe I'll run it with you.
I would like to tell you not to worry about her hair...but Audrey's 4 yr old birthday is coming up and her hair looks about the same as Amaryliss's...so hopefully Amaryliss's hair will come in and you won't have to wait any more! I have been thinking about taking Audrey to a dermatologist (they also deal with hair issues) because I really want her to have hair before she starts kindergarten! I am hoping the Dr will have a miracle shot that he can give her to make her real hair come in...but I have found no research to back up my hopes.
