Artwork and Writings

Amaryllis is our little artist and author lately.

She made this clipboard (out of a box and a clip) because she said she needs to take roll every morning.  So she sits all prim and proper at her desk during breakfast and calls everyone's names, and then you have to say "here" so she can write it down.

She always writes things about Kensington, or draws pictures for her:

This was a note when Kensington was sick and I was the doctor, and Amaryllis was the nurse, so this was the status update on Kensington:

Kensington is doing fine and she is following your words.

Jake helps Amaryllis with her homework and he's trying to get her stoked on math and always says so excited "Daddy LOVES math" and it has totally worked, she says she LOVES math too.  She made him some math homework and put it on his desk for when he came home for work:

A thank-you note from her February bday that I found in her backpack still:

A list of people she wanted to do something with:

FIRST CHAPTER BOOK
Ok, like how cute is this? She even got the quotations and dialogue right.

"The News"
By Amaryllis Bartlett

Kit had some good news and some bad news.
She said, "the good news is that I'm going to Pump it Up (a bouncy house here).
The bad news is that we're lost our house.

Kit's dad did not have a job because their money was gone!

Kit's house got took away.  She had to sleep in the attic.

...to be continued.

THE ARTIST AT WORK

A note I found rolled up in my diaper bag at church:

MOVIE STARS

A movie star has to look their best.

A movie star has to be in a movie.

A movie star needs to write in people's movie books (aka sign autographs).

A movie star has to be kind.

A movie star has to do every thing the teacher asks her to do.

After I read this, I asked her, what's a movie star? I honestly don't know where she heard about it because we don't watch those kind of shows and she has no clue what pop culture is or anything like that.  Her pop culture world is strictly Disney and Neflix 0-4yr preschool programming.

She looked around and replied "umm...I don't really know."

I realized later she saw a My Little Pony episode about a fashion show so this is where it all came from. *rolling eyes*

Oh brother.

I lapped this post up! Must be the Kindergarten teacher in me, because every last piece of writing made my heart happy. Amaryllis has such awesome handwriting, and her artwork is impressive, too. She's got great details in her drawings, and a good sense of placement and size. You've got a talented one there, but of course, you already knew that.
