Amaryllis had play-school with a friend this last week. Brooke came over here one day, then Amaryllis went to her house another day.
I had great plans for my day "off" and a list of errands a mile high.
And guess what. The whole time I was rip-roaring around town, I missed her too. Like not in a weird way, just in a lonely way. The car ride was quiet, pushing a buggy in Target without a chatterbox to share popcorn was lonesome, and I didn't have anyone to point out the elephants that exist in this world that us adults can't see (she can spot them everywhere. Everywhere. As in the carvings of woodwork in a restaurant or a republican bumper sticker).
She didn't even want to come home with me when I went to pick her up. Sadness!
At least I know sweet little KenziDayle won't be ditching me anytime soon. Being a bit of a narcissist, I do take comfort in knowing for a fact I'm the most important person in her little world right now. At least, that's what I tell myself...

What a nice post. I alway look forward to time by myself and then realize that I miss them too much.
It is bitter sweet having the little ones get a little closer to independence.
