Ok, so normally I do not post pictures of myself and would NEVER post them of me in a bavingsuit. But Amaryllis was sleeping and you can only take but so many pictures of the waves--and the blue sky & blue ocean turned out incredible in these!
First let me start by saying it was our last day at the beach. Always a sad day and you look at the ocean with a certain pitiful longingness and the beach seems so much prettier because you know you must leave and go back to your drabby life.
We had 2 hrs left and mom & I decided to go sit on the beach because the sun finally came out.
We were sitting there reading, had the beach all to ourselves, the tide was coming in so the water was washing up under our chairs.
Every few minutes we'd look up at the sky and say "man, look at that sky".
So we sat there for awhile, still commenting on how blue the sky looked and how I wished I had my camera, but I was too lazy to go get it. Well I had to go inside to peak on the sleeping baby, so yes I grabbed my camera. Couldn't resist :)
Anyways, I took some cool picts playing around with different settings. As you can see above, mom was a boring poser so I had to play model. I like the photos that keep the blue and darken everything else.
And yes, this is the exact color of the sky (unedited). It was awesome. Over the ocean it was one color, and over the house it was a deeper blue. And the clouds were super white and puffy.
(Char, look what was written inthe sky! It says Lucky Leaf right over our house, cool!).
I got pretty lost on my camera menu because I kept pushing buttons and I couldn't figure out how to go back to normal settings. Some weird screen with a graph and numbers kept coming up. Someday when Kelsey graduates from her fancy pants photography class, she can teach me all about those graphs with aperture and lighting and shutter whatnot. But that's a little out of my league for now. (My solution is to turn off the camera, switch it back on, and pray the weird screen goes away and settings go back to default. Works!).
I also figured out how to create a custom timer, so that you push the button and it gives you 10 seconds and then it takes up to 15 picts one right after another like this:
Wait. You didn't think I would actually have a post without a photo of my little Amaryllis, did you? Well...since we're on the subject of BLUE...check out these sparklers! It has been awhile since I've seen these baby blues show up in any pictures. I think it has something to do with just the right kind of light & the right angle of the face. Either way, she's totally working it!

I have much to tell you on what I learned about ISO in my class last night and my assignment this week is on aperture, so maybe I'll have it figured out by the time I turn it in.
Those are beautiful blue eyes. I have found that the right lighting with Sam and Bradley can really bring out such gorgeous colors in their eyes. Wish mine weren't poop brown.
Ah, the beach... I'm so glad you posted pics so we can enjoy it vicariously.
And my, oh my, those peepers are breath-taking!
Maybe it's the camera settings that you were playing with, but your hair looks darker?! especially the first picture...did you dye your hair!? It looks cute if you did!

What a fabulous blue sky. And I like your pictures. You are really talented at photography, girl.
I also like the blue, black and white. Refreshing, when usually it's the red that gets left in.
