We had 3 awesome beach days this week. It was so beautiful and fun on Wednesday that we went back again with friends on Friday. And then again with the grandparents on Saturday.
Maybelle loved her first beach experience, the sound of the ocean put her right to sleep :)
I've got my beach system down pat, so I can pack up and leave the house in just a few minutes. And my snack packing skills have been honed by this past summer's pool sessions. And being married to Jake--who hates bringing tons of junk to the beach--has really made me slim down my gear to just what I can carry/push in 1 trip (aka I skelton shade off other people's umbrellas!). So, while Maybelle does add some extra minutes to my routine, I have to say it really hasn't been that bad taking a 1 month old to the beach. Talk to me in a few months when she's crawling and eating sand, I'm sure I'll be singing a different story!
One of my friends brought a shovel to the beach and dug a big hole for the kids, they loved it.

I love how the kids entertain themselves at the beach. It's worth the effort of packing up the junk, just to go and have 5 hrs of them running themselves ragged.
Then you stay until dinner, go home, quick bath, and they fall into bed. Perfect.
