Per my last blog post, the girls rescued a hurt butterfly this past week.
It was our first rescued animal experience.
They were hesitant to hold it at first, but over the next few days they became so confident and caring.
We had so much fun taking care of Meghan the Butterfly. She was named after "Auntie Meghan, Grandma K's daughter." Okaaaaay. And the butterfly was actually referred to as He and Him and Buddy and Fella (not sure where that came from).
Amaryllis was simply fascinated by the whole thing, especially when I taught her how to hold it.

To be honest, I'm surprised one of the girls didn't accidentally maul her/him to death. He/She got shook around in a shoebox for 2 days camping.

Kensington was curious but hesitant and a little scared.
But as always, she was a photogenic little model :)
Amaryllis, on the other hand, has a different idea about playing photogenic little model:
And my favorite from the batch, ends up being the one where I totally messed up my camera focus in the rush of the moment trying to capture them kissing the butterfly and Amaryllis whispering "we'll take care of you little fella."
