Fall Funness

Halloween was really fun.  Amaryllis wore 3 different princess outfits to various parties.

She  seemed totally content ransacking her princess wardrobe for an outfit, and didn't even realize she "should" get a new costume.  I wonder how many more years I'll be able to get away with that!

Kensington did not like wearing a costume.  She is very much a child of ROUTINE at this point in her big 2 years.  Everything needs to be the same, in the same order, day after day or she kinda flips out.

Or maybe it's because the 15 minutes she put on her costume, Amaryllis slightly tormented her, as showcased in this clip.  After 10 minutes of that, she'd had enough!

The girls looooved the punkin patch, and loved carving for the first time.

Amaryllis is pretty creative and had a vision of how each punkin should look.  She was pleased with the results:

While walking to the gym, this butterfly was hurt on the sidewalk.  We stopped and looked for a bit then continued on our merry way.

On our return home, the butterfly was still there.  So Amaryllis (who is very much in to Doc McStuffins, a show on Disney about a 6yr old girl who does checkups on her toys) decided we should take it home and rescue it.

They are in looove and I got some really cute picts, I'll try to post later.

We went on a somewhat thrown together, spontaneous camping trip to the beach.

A huge success.  Honestly, it was super fun and the location was really great! A cool playground, beach, quaint little beach town, the in-laws there too cook awesome food, a 1am racoon spotting (they were trying to get into our cooler on the picnic table).

I suppose I should mention Kensington barfed twice, but I think it was just a little too many smores.  It wasn't that big of a deal (easy for me to say, Jake cleaned it up!) and now that I think about it, could it be that I'm finally getting the hang of this mother thing and not getting stressed out over every little thing that goes wrong? Wow.  I'll have to think about that some more.

I should setup a tent more often in the backyard, they could've played in it all day.

Here is Meghan the Butterfly, in her shoebox during our campout, being tormented--ahem I mean loved--by the girls.

I saw this picture of Meghan the Butterfly during my daily artwork cleanup (it's getting out of control!) and I thought it was cute as I was about to toss it in the trash,  Jake told me Amaryllis said "that's me and our house really little on the ground right there" and he pointed out that she is starting to add depth perception to her drawings.  I never would've noticed it, but now that I think about it I'd say that's pretty amazing for a 4yr old to pickup on something subtle like that.
