Drawings

It's so fun to watch the girls get better and better at drawing.  They draw all the time.  They prefer drawing/coloring over playing most times.  Amaryllis is constantly cutting cereal boxes and taping things onto straws and rainbow-fying everything.  It was wearing me out, having so much mess out alllll the time.  I finally got smart and put a little trashcan under her table, don't know why it took me so long to think of that.

Do you keep your kids artwork?  I'm never really sure what to do with it.  So I just let it float around and secretly throw it out at night after a few days.  I scan the best ones and add it to my picture folder on my computer.

I'm totally amazed sometimes, at the things they create or the details they add.

Learning to add fish, ocean water, eye lashes, fingers, and looooong hair.

She drew this for me and put it on my bed.  I had no clue what it was since I've really only seen her draw mermaids and princesses.  Then Jake told me they went to a carnival at the park, and there was a hot-air balloon giving rides.  He said that she came home and drew it in detail, even the 3 big ropes and the truck that it was anchored to.  And then he told me it was a Remax hot air balloon--she even got the colors right, I was impressed!

Haha, ok this is about as "good mommy blog" as I get.  I've been drawing her random lists with things she has to checkmark off when we go on walks. Stroller scavenger hunts I guess.  Anyways I got sick of drawing them so I scanned it in and now I just print them off if we are going on a long walk.

Kensington's first drawing! She was so excited to show me her mermaid.  It didn't look like much, but then I "saw" it.  I thought maybe Amaryllis had helped her, because I've only seen KD draw scribbles and circles but here ya go, her very first. She has done lots of them since then, and sometimes she adds on the "shee-shell" bra like Ariel.  Cute cute cute--in a very weird tadpole looking way.
