This and That

It was a beautiful and perfect day outside.  STILL loving the weather here, are you tired of me bragging about it?

The only slightly sad thing about our egg hunt is all week Amaryllis was super excited, and then she said something about how she's wearing her wings and Owen and Brooke will be there.  It didn't make sense at first, then I put two and two together.  She's watched this home video so many times, she thought she was going to re-live it again for this Easter party, bless her heart.  Good thing little kids are resilient and don't ask too many questions when hidden candy is involved.

Anyways, Easter was a big hit.  I love how she is using her pirate knife to cut open the eggs on her little cutting board.  I let her pick out a toy at the dollar store and to my utmost surprise she picked out a pirate set and passed up on all the princess junk.  I kept asking her if she was sure, and she hung onto it the whole time, stared at the packing the entire drive home, and couldn't wait to open it (I love making her wait to open things---just because I have the power to do so.  Mwahhahaha).

In our church, everyone has an assignment/calling.  When we moved here they put me in charge of the logistics over girls camp for our area (about 130 girls).  Easy peasy for me, but somewhat of a "big" calling (as in time consuming).  So I was kinda surprised when they asked me to additionally serve with the young women (age 16-18 yrs) in our actual ward (domination).  (could I be more annoying and use more paranthesis?).  (probably.).   I definitely do not feel old enough to be an adult leader over the youth, seems like I was just in the youth program myself.  We did human bowling last Wednesday night.  Very entertaining.

One of my friends planned a girls sleepover at the Marriott down the street. Seriously brilliant idea.  I am extremely impressed with the cooking skills of these ladies.  I brought the store-bought package of Reeces Eggs that you see on the floor...and I think I was the only one to eat the 3 that are missing.

I have to post these picts so yall have proof I have new fwinds and that I'm not pining away for all you NC friends (which I am at times).  Gotta love our church--instant friends wherever you go and there's always some sort of Mormon connection, whether it's same years/majors/classes at BYU, mutual friends, so-and-so growing up with so-and-so's husband, etc. 

I signed Amaryllis up for swim classes at the YMCA.  I made Jake take her, after my failed attempt at Ballet classes.  I felt like when I'm around she has a need to bring out the drama, put on the pout, and become ultra clingy.  He said she just got right in like a fish to water.  They had to go around and say out loud the name they picked for their fish diving sticks.  He said all the other kids named their fishes "sam" or "lily".  The instructor got to Amaryllis and she blurted out "Piggy Wiggy Feet!".  Okaaaay.
