Well things have finally slowed down a bit. Am I weird for liking the postpartum chaos and relaxation? It's chaos b/c you don't know what the heck you are doing, and I find that somewhat exciting as compared to the lull of pre-baby life. It's relaxing because you can shirk all your social obligations and go into hiding for a few weeks (which reminds me, someone said of our long beach escape "dang you're like a celebrity hiding your newborn from the paparazzi". To that I say: it's true--the pictures of my beautiful children would fetch a high price and I probably wouldn't donate the money to charity).
Our little peanut is almost 1 month old, and our big peanut is just as cute as ever. Her comprehension, sentence structure, and imagination have just exploded all over the place--it amazes me every day.
Having 2 kids isn't as horrid as everyone warned me. People kept telling me that Amaryllis would regress in potty training (she didn't), misbehave all the time (nothing unusual), and would fight her naps (sorry, not at this house my friend!).
I find that this time around I am much more relaxed because a crying baby doesn't bother me so much. Also, I am keeping busy. With Amaryllis I sat around twiddling my fingers and wondering what stay-at-homes do all day. It was hard not to be in the office and busy. But with Kensington I can just stare at her, hold her, eat bon-bons all day, and watch my stories on the telly. Just kidding. We spend lots of time at the parks, playing outside, eating lunch with friends, going to storytime or to the mall, etc. I really need to find us a swimming pool. If you have access to a swimming pool and want to be friends with me, just let me know.
So for now I'm enjoying the slow paced lifestyle, because I know it's going to be crazy this summer. We have family coming in town soon, 2 weddings, and my
Southern Innkeepers meeting back-to-back (it's at
The Homestead this year...how amazing does it look?!?) and hopefully lots of beach trips.

I am glad you are transitioning to 2 kids nicely. It hasn't been too bad at our house either, other than a few of the you-know-what incidents and many tempter tantrums. :) Let me know when you want a little more drama at your house and I'll send Macey over.
