Jake and I have been married for six years, wowsers! And we're still in love to boot! I always know this time of year is near b/c the hydrangeas start blooming.
We received some lovely anniversary flowers from the Bartlett parents and grandparents.
Amaryllis says "flower" everytime she walks by (she can't really say it correctly, obviously, but I understand her) and says it over and over until someone picks her up and let's her take a sniff.
Our anniversary wasn't the same without the Navasards. Two yrs ago we were on our cruise together (click here and find the cruise video on the top) during our special day.
What else have we been up to?
Swimming in a pool from the Dollar General. So glad I didn't fork over $30 for the lame Target one, which is all I could find up until now. (Which makes me think--is it just me or does anyone else feel that Target can be a huge rip-off sometimes?).
Amaryllis went to a neighbor friends birthday party, and just up and helped herself to his cake. At least she was mannered enough to use a fork.

As you can see, Amaryllis is never too far from a baby doll. I love watching her innate nurturing instinct take over.

She is always hugging, kissing, feeding, playing patty cake, or making it say prayers. It's really sweet to watch.
Oh yeah, here's something random: For one of our clients at work, The Triangle Area Hotel-Motel Association, we do monthly luncheons for them. They are usually hosted at a hotel and are really nice. We knew this month it would be a bit out-of-the ordinary since it was hosted at a farm by the Raleigh Food Co-Op.

Well imagine our surprise when Beth and I pulled up to this farm. I think we were expecting a cute, quaint farm.
No, it was a F-A-R-M. With random barn cats straying around, and a wheat tractor cutting the field behind us. There was no registration table for us to setup our namebadges and whatnot, so we went tromping around (let it be known we were dressed for a business meeting and in skirts) in the condemned farm-house and found some random tables, drug them out under the tree, found some old chairs behind the well, and made do.

The farm house was really creepy. It was a mixture of old stacked up mattresses, geriatric equipment, and baby high chairs. The above was even creepier: A trampoline, a rope swing, and yes--a wheelchair. I really don't want to know what all used to go on at this farm.

I was to busy swatting flies and fanning me-self to listen to the speaker...

Happy Anniversary! I'm sorry the navasards couldn't be there this time.
seriously,.. the farm must have been an choice of necessity, perhaps funds are running low in the party dept.
Happy Anniversary! Those are beautiful flowers.
I think it's sweet that she loves her baby doll so much.
Don't worry we thought about you on your anniversary (even though I always think it's June 8th)! Perhaps we'll have to get together next June or Jake could just get a job out here and then we'd always be together!!!
Happy Anniversary!!!!!!!!!!
The farm look sick...I'm glad you were able to do something with it :-)
ps...how do you do those videos plus the slideshow? they're awesome!~
Happy Anniversary!
And I can't believe that farm! It does look a little creepy!
I think the stuff Amaryllis is acting out with her doll is super sweet.
And happy anniversary!
Ah, hi Emily - found your site! Brent (with Elika) here - I wondered why I hadn't seen you guys at Godbold Park recently but see you have a new park (my in-laws have been here for a week too and rainy so I haven't been out there much myself). Still going to the pool? We may try tomorrow (Friday...).
