Lazy Sunday Afternoon

Amaryllis and I went to Charlotte to visit my parents since Jake has been surfing in Hawaii with his dad & brothers this past week.

We had lots of fun enjoying the spring weather. Of course, the grandparents spoiled her rotten (SchramMa taught her to say "cookie" and Grandaddy showed her where the marshmellow stash is located).
While there, we went to a couple parks, jogged on some different trails, and tried out the play areas at a few malls.
My favorite day of the week at my parent's house is always Sunday. If you've ever been over on a Sunday, you know why (um hello, they are called Fun-Dip Sundays so duh!).
It's just a really chillaxing day. We have a sort of unofficial, unspoken routine where you wear your comfy clothes, my mom has soft music playing, it smells homey because someone makes cookies or homemade ice-cream, it is quiet for a few hours while people nap in various places, then somehow everyone ends up on the porch or deck or playing out in the driveway while the evening rolls in.
And it seems like there were always neighbor kids migrating to the porch (probably because of the cookies and Fun-Dip) so there is that un-noticible sound of little kid giggles. You know, the distant sound of kids playing outside that makes an evening in the cul-de-sac seem cozy.
Now that my parents are in Charlotte, there aren't very many neighbor kids but we do have little Amaryllis to keep us entertained!
I haven't taken pictures in awhile so it was fun to play around.
Aren't the jammies sweet? They are from a cutsey little boutique store in Santa Barbara, This Little Piggy Wears Cotton, and the print depicts Santa Barbara scenes.

Amaryllis learns new things everyday and it always amazes me that she picks up on things so quickly.
I feel like I need to say something in between each picture, but I have nothing else to say...Except that I think she's really cute. And I love when she gets to walking so fast she teeters from side to side trying to slow down. And I like taking pictures.
Now for my favorite picture. I'm ashamed to admit that I take advantage of the fact she will kiss anything you tell her to...

I've been waiting for you to post some more pictures,...Oh and SchraMa can invite me over for snickerdoodles anytime! those are my favorite cookie. And I'm jealous of homemade ice cream on sunday afternoons and everyone sitting out on the porch. *sigh*,...the good life.
