Enough About Her, Let's Talk About Me

Well I love taking pictures, and before I only had Jake or Cricket to take pictures of, but now I have a cute little doll to be my picture friend. In case you haven't noticed, my blog has turned into the "pictures of Amaryllis website". As I have joined the world of mommy blog stalkers, I notice that blogs about kids are pretty boring and I find myself wondering what is going on with the moms (my friends!). So let me think of 3 things that are going on with me. And please, dear friends, you do the same.

1. What did I do yesterday? Yesterday I had lunch with April and Heidi at The Farmers Market Restaurant where we feasted on good ole fashion country cooking. Let's just say their biscuits are divine. I wish there had been banana puddin for dessert though. Then we hungout at April's and re-watched American Idol, then went shopping.

2. What did I do today? I worked out early (step class), then went into work. I took Amaryllis and I had to mail 3 huge boxes, so I stuck her on the mail cart while I hauled them down to the mail room. A co-worker walked in and exclaimed "I thought you had a doll on there!". Then the Coke vending machine guy and I talked since he has a 2 month old as well. Funny what a conversation starter she is. Anywho, I'm knee deep in a meeting for one of my clients, The Southern Innkeepers Association, as I prepare their 100th Diamond Jubilee hosted by The Greenbrier. In case you didn't know, I plan meetings for different associations. This meeting is coming up in June and it will be a spectacular event since it is their 100th Anniversary (they are the oldest hospitality association in America). We have a great meeting planned--everything from a falconry show, culinary demonstrations, and the crowning event will be a "white glove service" old south ball! Lots to do there. And tonight? The Office finale, duh!

3. What am I looking forward to? Speaking of June, I CAN'T WAIT for my bff and her hubby/baby to come visit us! She is da bomb diggity and we will have so much fun when Kelmily reunites. Yay! We're also excited to be heading to beautiful Santa Barbara next week.

Ok, enough about me. Back to my adorable baby and me taking pictures of her. While taking the above pictures, I gasped and thought "hey she looks like Melanie!" and then, since everyone says Mel and I look alike, I thought maybe Amaryllis looks like me! Most people think she looks like Jake and I try not to be sad. What do you think? And yes, she is wearing another triangular hat.

This is a very exciting day at the Southern Sunshine blog. It's a breath of fresh air to actually hear what YOU are up to these days. Hearing about your job was quite interesting.
And, right now the baby looks an awful lot like. . . a baby blob with arresting eyes. Can't say if she leans towards your features or not. Maybe if I was in person. . .

I am so glad you still have your own personality even though you have a baby! :) I can't wait for the our trip to North Carolina either, it can't come fast enough.

I think she looks like you! There are certain times when I kind of think she looks like Jake, but I usually see her mama in her!
(My dad always says "My kids have all my good looks and I know that because my wife still has all of hers", so you could think of it that way if people really think she looks like Jake!)

Hey Emily,

I just wanted to say there is banana pudding at the Farmers Market but it's not on all the menus so next time just ask the waitress because theirs is so good.

Glad to hear about what's going on with you in addition to seeing pictures of Baby Bartlett.

Kels is coming to visit you! awesome! :) blogging is the weirdest thing isn't it? We find ourselves blogging about anything that might get a reaction from people. ..haha. and less about what's going on,.. Hopefully I get a few meaningful updates in occasionally. :) It's harder to blog about anything fun like that if all you're doing is going to work and coming home and trying to rest up so you can do it again the next day. :) oh well. eventually my life will get more interesting haha.
