Thanksgiving | Utah

We flew to Utah to spend Thanksgiving week.

Granny and Gramps
Part of the reason for going was I've just had this feeling the past few months that I really needed to see my Granny and Gramps.

We drove straight from the airport (and a quick car nap, that I was shocked even happened) to North Ogden to visit them.

Amaryllis had a school assignment to do a ancestor interview, so it worked out great.  She asked Granny lots of questions about her life as a second grader.  Granny told her about not having a TV in her home and watching TV through the store window, getting a job at age 14 for 35 cents an hour which was the same cost as a loaf of bread (when boys her age were making $1.25/hour), what her phone looked like as a child, her favorite snack of toasted peanut butter, having to always wear dresses, and her parents divorce.

 I love my grandparents.
I'm glad I got to know them as an adult during college.

My granny had an open dinner policy for us college grandkids; every Sunday for 4 years we'd bring friends, roommates, significant others, fiancees and eventually new spouses and have a nice home cooked meal, complete with Blackberry Shasta.
We'd play games afterwards or wander down to the garden or pick cherries from the big tree.

Of course I had to take a selfie with Gramps so I could text it to cousin Paul and rub it in that I am IN FACT THE FAVORITE GRANDCHILD (deal with it Paul).

Gramps asked where my selfie stick was, haaaaa, love it--he's sharp as a tack and such a gentleman.

BYU Campus
We stopped of at BYU and gave the girls a mini tour.

We ate at the creamery of course.

Got a Jamba, of course.

Some students from the Marketing department asked to take their picture, since they were doing an advertising campaign project for Jamba.

Bean Museum

We did a quick visit to the museum on campus.

Children's Discovery Museum

The kids museum at Thanksgiving Point was cool!

Hanging out in Michelle's huge basement after Thanksgiving Point.

Chilling at the House

The girls love their cousins.  I barely saw Amaryllis or Kensington while we were at home base. They just played and played and played.

They had sleepovers and worked on this little Sing-a-lot in the wee hours of the night.

The performance of their Christmas songs (accompanied by Charley on the piano) was cute too, but their sheet music they hand wrote and illustrated was even cuter.  I forgot to get a picture tho :(

Sugar cookie taste test.  GOSH--SO GOOD.

All the aunts and uncles and cousins I hadn't seen in years stopped by for dessert.
So crazy, I actually ended up knowing my Uncle's new wife from our Raleigh years.

Sledding
I'll just have to remember the chilling fear (literally) of visualizing my 2 oldest children sliding down the mountain and plunging to their deaths in the icey cold lake below.

But I still kicked Kelsey's booty teeeheee.

Maybelle's First Snow

Hanging With Kelfo
Seriously HOW did we not get a picture together?
Good thing you sent me these beauties :)

how did we not get a picture!! I blame chasing the millions of children around and then pure exhaustion. Next time.

Love the pics with your grandparents. They are seriously the best. College wouldn't of been the same without them.

And that day of sledding will not be forgotten anytime soon. Thanks for always being up for an adventure!
