Happy Thanksgiving! It was 85 degrees here today! Crazy!
The girls played outside all morning.
Sidenote: Maybelle looooves babies, it's so cute.
They played on the porch and made snowmen and decorated the front door.
If you zoom in, you can see that it's our family and it has our future ages on it. I love being 22!!!
After a morning of playing in the hot sunshine, we headed to Santa Barbara.
We got there kind of early so we ran out some energy at the plaza.
The girls did some window shopping :)
We ate at Uncle Matt and Auntie Glenna's.
They made tons of delicious food!
It was cozy and fun and I didn't cook a thing--even better!
I wore my stretchy pants too, I'm smart like that.
Here are some other things we've been up to the past few weeks:
I thought it was sweet that out of all the things/toys she could've listed, she listed her family and "Jeisas Crist" on the below class work:
So pretty here this time of year!
We had our last Disney trip for awhile. Because our passes expire next month, but mostly because these little ladies are too spoiled and don't even realize what a luxury and privilege it is to go to Disneyland for a day.
No joke, while we are there eating an extremely overpriced hamburger after spending a day galavanting around, shelling out cash, and putting up with spoiled and snotty behavior, they say (in a whiney voice) "how come we never go to the zoo in a long time, when can we go to the zoo?"
I'm like... seriously???... We're at freaking Disneyland and you are whining about going to another extravagant money sucking place?
Straw ----> Camel's Back
I replied "well I hope you enjoyed today because this is your last trip here until you can grow up and be grateful."
So. I'm cracking down.
We had such good behavior for a really long time, but somehow it has all come to a whirlwind halt and Mama Dictator is back in town.
This is not a democracy.
I do not negotiate with terrorists.
Pitifully, Amaryllis made herself a time-out chair (aka Tie Mowt Cher). She also has to do lots of chores and pay me money when she picks fights with Kensington or whines. I'm rich.
Do you ever feel like these little people just want want want from you all day long? Gimme gimmee gimmee, just like that Berenstein Bears book.
This week I feel like they have literally sucked the life out of me.
I'll tell you one thing. It does make me appreciate my own mom like 50 times more. I don't know how she did it all and survived a sane woman.
Another thing I have learned (and am still learning) is to appreciate and recognize the good behavior and not take it for granted. You never realize how great your kids are until all the sudden they go through a phase of misbehaving.
And lastly.
I need to not let their behavior determine my attitude.
I need to not let their behavior determine my attitude.
That's a hard one.
I'm going to think about that.
