So we did the beach multiple times a week leading up to School. Here's our kids peeking into the clubhouse window, a random kid was having a birthday party in there and there was a magician.
She finally ventured off the blanket, and into the sand.
And then one day, just like that, we have a first grader!
Like mother, like daughter:
Saturday nights are date nights around these parts:
Also I've turned california hippie dumb, and started eating mostly paleo/primal to shed my last few baby pounds. Don't worry, probably 2 more weeks and then I'll be eating carbs like the rest of the sane people :)
Here's the birthday girl, Lady Rex.
And a late night bday forever21 pit stop that went all wrong, wrong, wrong.
It was a one piece, zipper jumpsuit. With a retarded zipper.
I was sweating bullets imagining the worst thing ever (that the snarky teen dressing room attendant would have to literally cut me out of the outfit) after no-joke 10 full minutes under those hot dressing room lights, with Kelly yanking on the zipper laughing hysterically, with a few "i seriously don't know what to do" mixed in there. Phew. She pulled through, as always.
Here's another good time at the outlet mall:
Fake glasses. Her first real purchase of $12, her very own money. Out of all the accessories in Claires, that's what she had her eyes set on (hardeeharhar, get it? eyes?).
