August Rush

Miss Peachie Peach is crawling around like a champ.  Her soft plump baby knees paid the price as the fresh baby skin turned into rough little toddler skin.  :(

We had a girls night at the Marriot down the road and did this:

NOTHING.  So fun to sit around and do NOTHING.  Like really!!!

The beach days this month have been many.

I think we've spent just as much time on the seashore as on dry land.

Doesn't matter if it's sunny or the fog rolls in, it's always a fun time at the beach.

My little beach babes:

Kensington loves the beach!  She gets lost in her own world.  She just plays in the sand (with nothing, no toys or anything) for hours...like honestly, HOURS just rolling around in it and thinking of who knows what.

Anyways, one beach pictures looks like the next, right?  But still so fun.  This was a particularly fun Saturday with a bunch of families.  All the moms got in and boogied.

The girls really have a love for the ocean.  Whenever Amaryllis draws a family picture, it's usually a beach theme.

I love Kensington's floates in this pict:

If it's humid, I've noticed some curls on babe's little head:

It's so true...

The guilty face (she's on a ban from gum right now):

Light reading while waiting for sister to finish pooping:

And a few days later, vice versa:

Like father like daughter?

Jake started a new job and has been working at home until he finds office space, so I think they've picked up on a bit:

This is Charlie.  For our neighborhood, he is a mixture of Tom Sawyer, Huckelberry Fin, and Dennis the Menace.  He's a good kid, he has no supervision and just wanders from house to house and park to park looking for someone to play with.

Recently, he's latched on to the Bartlett girls and they LOVE him because he plays boy games and wrestles and I can just see the intrigue in their little faces when he talks about catching lizards and climbing walls.

He gave Amaryllis his number, haaaaa it was really innocent and cute:

We love our little neighborhood park and pool.  There's always a friend to chat with and a buddy to play with.   And if not, then we entertain ourselves:

Kensington has been perfecting the choke hold lately.  It's a problem.

She was the Spotlight kid at primary, and I'm not really sure what all they said about her, but it involved unicorns and bacon.  Must be our child.

We had another spontaneous girls night when a friend came back in town.

Wanting to remember the moment, someone decided we should take a pict with a self timer and it was just oddly hilarious.

"Is it working?"

"Oh, is it even turned on?"

"No idiot, you have to turn it on"

"Am I in it? Squish in more."

"I think it's counting down"

"Wait, did it take it?  It just took it."

So.  There you have it.

After a fun first half of August, it was time for our big summer adventure with the Bartlett Clan...

Catalina!  Or as some spell it...Kadlleyna.
