And tho she be but little

The time that we've all been waiting for has arrived. Many of you have wondered, along with me, when the day would be that Kensington decides to stick up for herself and stare Amaryllis in the eyes, and steadily say "No." (which of course we interpret as "I'm sorry, but I'm not little anymore and it is not ok with me for you to always be taking my stuff, crashing my parties, tricking me into trading with you, and so from this point on, you must recognize that I am now a person and I WILL fight back, got it, sista?").   

It has been fun to watch Kensington trying to grow into her own little personality, amidst such a big personality such as Amaryllis.  They are so different yet so the same. Kensington is mellow, she is sweet, but just don't think about taking her Ariel from that tiny little grasp.  Yowser.

 

I took these quick snapshots before church.  It's rare we get to be alone, just the two of us.  I feel like I forget to appreciate her sweet, quiet observations because I'm usually busy talking to Amaryllis.  I'm going to try better.  Do you find it difficult once you have more than 1 kid to make sure each of them get their due attention?  I can't figure it out.

   Anywho.

Here's a tip for you:   Don't take your 2 yr old outside before church.

 

Because they will most certainly find the 1 centimeter of water in the entire neighborhood, and go crazy with it.

 

 So much for her cute outfit--she had to wear something else. I "let go" a long time ago of ever caring or trying to prevent my kids from getting dirty. Too stressful, and I have way better things to worry about. Now I just let them roll around in muck and they usually go through at least 3 dresses a day.

 And even though they squabble now, at least (knock on wood) there is more love than fighting in their relationship.  I hope it stays like that.  I pray it stays like that.

When I eat sugar cookies, they don't count towards my calorie intake for the day.

Look at me, getting all Heidi Homemaker on ya! 

Before you are too impressed, just know the cookies are from a box mix.  The frosting, however, is homemade.  It's called Glacing.  You add a bit of Corn Syrup and then it makes the perfect icing that spreads super easy and dries to the right amount of hardness.  Easy!

These were for my class that I teach at church (16-18yr old girls).

 

I'm constantly begging AV to let me take picts of her (she politely says "no thank you") but this day she said:

 "Mom, I have a deal.  I can take a picture in front of the cookies, and then I can have one, is that a good deal?"
