When I came home from partying with my roommies last week, I asked Amaryllis how preschool was. She said "I took pictures! And I got to hold bears!".
Come again? What was that? You had school pictures?
I turned to confirm with Mr. Mom and he was worried and said she's been saying that all week but he wasn't sure if it was true. I prayed it wasn't true, and that it was just her teacher snapping picts for an art project. I prayed she wore the clothes I had so thoughtfully laid out for pre-school that week while I was gone.
WRONG.
I just received her picture proofs and an outrageous order form ($27 for 1 5x7 and 2 wallets?). I pretty much stared at the pictures just laughing. Being a lover of all things related to children fashion photography, I really just have to laugh. Or I'd cry. I had such high hopes for her first real school photos. I wanted to dress her, and get excited with her, and kinda wanted to stay and watch.
I do give props to PortraitMakers, though, as they at least attempted to comb her mullet and coverup the mis-matched booty shorts and pajama shirt with some bears. I am not snob enough to with hold congrats to any photographer who tries to make it work--even if the subject is hopelessly styled.
Oh well.

Ok, I find it hilarious that Jake would let her go to school in that outfit. Boys.
And, those don't look like any school pictures i've ever seen, they look more like JC Penny portraits. Aren't you suppose to stand on a platform and have your arms folded in front of you?

What a good laugh- She still looks pretty darn cute though- looking at that picture really made me think she looks like you- I had always seen a lot of Jake in her... but not in that pic!
HA! I really thought it wouldn't be that bad... but then I got to the shorts! Hilarious. And really, school shots are supposed to be terrible and awkward. At least she looks beautiful in every shot (apart from the outfit, of course).
Omigoodness that is hilarious! I LOVE her mismatched clothes. At least you'll have your blog to look back on these awesome picts instead of buying them.
PS What kind of preschool is she going to? I am fairly certain that Asher's preschool will NOT be taking any school pictures, let alone pro studio shots like that.

Jamie - she goes to First Presbyterian and I guess they had a company bring in a white backdrop and lighting equipment. I was surprised too.
I think this is the best smile she's ever given any camera--so I'm kinda falling in love with these. May have to buy some :)
