Asleep at the Wheel

I looked back and thought Amaryllis was sleeping in the cart. She was all hunched forward and had her eyes closed. It momentarily shocked me because 1) what little kid knows to drape her arms all casually like that? and 2) I've never ever ever seen her fall asleep anywhere other than her crib.

Not to worry, she's a big tease.
(And yes I, Emily Bartlett, went to the grocery store. Believe me, it was not by choice (out of milk) and I decided to be nice to Jake and do the shopping for once. I hated every moment of it.)

I found this turtle in the yard and picked it up to show her. We watched it crawl away and noticed it only had 3 working legs.
