Front Porch Weather

Fall in North Carolina is beautiful. It provides much needed relief from a hot nasty summer, and it can last well into December. I love having the windows and doors open, and sitting/eating/lounging outdoors.

I made Amaryllis sit in this wicker rocking chair and she freaked out. I laugh everytime I see this picture and the look of sheer terror on her face--am I a twisted mom?
She got over her fears of the chair when she discovered...

...DIRT!

Then she ate some....
...eww...not all it's cracked up to be.

Apparently this is how you crawl on cement...

...while this method is less ladylike, it prevents unsightly scraped knees.

I went to check the mail and snapped this picture. They look so innocent, right?
But in half a second, that dern pup darted into the street after a squirrel and that mischievous baby nearly crawled off the porch in hopes of reaching more dirt. So much for unsightly scraped knees...

Very cute "dern baby" Em. No doubt that she's yours! She's a Schramm all the way. :)

you have a very pretty house. You crack me up. Amaryllis is going to look back on these pics someday and say "Mom!!" you used me for your fun picture experiments!? hahaha.

I love the crawling shot...she's definitely too smart for that concrete.
