Outside, Inside, All Around

Well here's life around the neighborhood.

Our ragamuffins and their crew can be seen traipsing from one house to another, from one park to another pool, and everything in between.

Maybelle found her shadow :)

My favorite time of day in Camarillo is late afternoon, evening.

We are still in a very severe drought, and barely get any rain (just enough to coat all the dust with a nice layer of paste).

If we aren't outside, we are chilling inside.

Little pigtails and overalls.  A rite of passage.

And if we aren't outside, nor inside, we are somewhere in between!
They love playing in the trunk!

HELPING HANDS
Day of Service

The girls absolutely loved going to a local women's shelter and ripping out the weeds in these planter boxes, and planting a veggie garden.

They worked and helped the entire time, even though the other kids ended up playing on the playground.  It was AV's dream come true to hammer all those nails in, and tie the string. (she often hammers nails into a shoe box in our garage and begs to do it on "real wood").

We made the local paper too!

The below picture of Kensington also made the online newspaper. Isn't her face so Kensington? I can just imagine what she was playing with that squash plant.

More Around the House Tid Bits

This is our banana ice cream.  Topped with tiny bite of brownie.  A girls' gotta eat ok?!

The clubhouse (closet under the stairs) got an electrical face lift with some new lights:

I may or may not have wasted an entire precious nap time, under there by myself, arranging things and spying on the girls stuff and reading their notes.

Zoned out:

Field Trip!

Amaryllis went to the Santa Barbara zoo for her first grade field trip.

Auntie Meghan and Grandma K met her there.

She was so cute with her "safari" outfit and her diary.

Her notes from the trip:

We went on a field trip of our own....can you tell where?

We had a record pool attendance last week.  6 out of 7 days.

Of course, the 7th day, we rest!

 Saggy diaper problems:

I love how the newspaper had to split your name in two, but had room to fit Amaryllis' whole name beside the same photo.
