A Morning Walk & The NC State Fair

I feel much better these days. Morning sickness plus a toddler equals not much fun. Thankfully it only lasted a few weeks.
And of course what is a blog post without an update on our little-big girl Amaryllis?
Let's see, her vocabulary and sentence formation is expanding so rapidly I can barely keep up. She can count to 10 and we are working on colors.

This is her puppy, Duke. Of course her pink bedtime puppy is the main squeeze in her life but it isn't allowed outside the crib. So Duke takes on the day-time duties.
And what a little coy streak she has in her. She can talk you into doing/giving her anything with those big baby blue eyes looking up at you.

"Momma, treat ok? Yeah, (head nodding) ok."

Like it was her idea, she has solved the dilemma, and you must go along with the OK head nod. It really is quite convincing and I find myself agreeing to things without taking the time to think.
She makes me laugh everyday, even when she isn't around. Yesterday she sat on the counter and helped me cook (you heard that right--I cooked!). Then today, while she was upstairs napping, I happened to notice there were small bites taken out of EVERY apple in the basket--she must have been quite busy up there on the counter.

My sister's family and my parents came down this past weekend for the North Carolina State Fair. As you know, Jake & I are true lovers of all things fair related. Mostly the food :)

Amaryllis takes after us...
She already has Jake's love for this particular deliciousness:
Here is me and Mel and Amaryllis on the ferris wheel. Weeeeeeee.

I like the idea of the pink puppy staying in the crib. Smart. And the first picture of Amaryllis eating the fair treats is awesome!

Those baby blues will get you everytime! Fair, family, and food equals fun! That's enough for the both of us.

Macey and AV once again have the same clothes, they have such good taste. ;)

Love that AV is figuring out how to work the system and get what she wants. Macey new thing is when you're eating candy she says, "I like candy. Candy is good. I like candy." Then she just stares at you until you cave.
