Amaryllis: Odds & Ends

April is flying by.  The weather has been beautiful (up until this weekend and it got hot.  Like HOT already.  Why why why?)

Amaryllis seems like she is really stepping up her playtime & imagination.  I "show" her how to play with things and she just runs with it.  It's really cute.

Here is Amaryllis rocking her first hairdo (the unicorn).  Just wait until I put her baby mullet in a ponytail...

We've been doing lots of playing outside, sitting on the grass, sitting on the porch, going for walks, blowing bubbles, and working on building my.....

BOOO-YAAA.  Bam.  I made this raised garden all by myself.  Went to Home Depot, talked to the dudes, got my wood cut, hammered in these stakes, bought manure (eww) and planted my seedlings.  The hardest part was beforehand when I had to dig up the grass, which was so hard because of my weak shovelling skills.  I'm sure you know that I'm not a handy manual labor person, so be impressed.

Now before you feel inspired and do one yourself, just note that I spent like $60 on this thing and that buys a LOT of veggies.  Trying not to think about that.  Alls I know is I better see a tomato.

We are dogsitting Sophie.  Amaryllis likes to walk her--something she can't do with Cricket.  We learned that the hard way (ie she faceplanted when Cricket took off after a bird).
I think it's funny she holds the leash like a purse.

The above picture is a cool filter on my camera that takes the red hues and contrasts them against the other colors.  Pretty nifty.  And there is Cricket, our nursery's faithful nanna, keeping an eye on things.
Amaryllis had her first scuffed knee and bandaid.  Jake was pretty stoked because apparantly that means she is now  "a real little kid!"

Amaryllis can high five and do knucks.

I love The Lucky Leaf.  How many times can I write that on this blog?  Anyways, my dad is hiding in this picture.  And, notice we have neighbors to our left (it used to be an empty lot).

Yeah, I would love the Lucky Leaf, too.

I actually think Amaryllis looks really cute with her "unicorn," despite what Kelsey might think. I think it's the length - it still sticks straight up instead of flopping over like a fountain.

I think the younger you can start doing a girls hair the better...then when they are a little older, they will actually let you do there hair instead of trying to run away (that is what someone told me anyway)

And good job on the garden! I am very impressed! Good luck on the veggies! and Happy eating!

I can't believe you started your own garden!! I can't keep anything alive...can you please come over and help me put up flowers (as in a pot of flowers) in my front yard? I'm helpless.

Ps...just say no to baby mullets~
